Главное
  • Volta appointed former Yondr Group executive Eve McIlvaney as Vice President of Vendor Procurement.
  • The hire follows the announcement of a planned Norway AI factory under a US$10 billion strategic partnership.
  • Volta has stated that the high-density project will deploy 133 MW and use NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems.
  • The available information does not confirm construction, equipment orders, capital deployment or operational capacity.

Eve McIlvaney has joined Volta as Vice President of Vendor Procurement, with responsibility for developing strategic supplier relationships to support the company’s deployment plans.

McIlvaney joins from Yondr Group, where she spent two and a half years, including the final 18 months as Vice President, Global Procurement. The appointment follows Volta’s emergence from stealth on August 4, 2026, and its subsequent announcement of a strategic partnership valued at US$10 billion with an unnamed leading AI lab.

The partnership concerns a planned European AI factory in Norway alongside Bitdeer. Volta has described the project as a high-density deployment with 133 MW of capacity and NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin systems. The 133 MW figure is presented as deployment capacity, but the available information does not specify whether it represents IT load, electrical capacity, or the capacity of a broader campus or project phase.

For a project of this scale, supplier strategy is likely to be central to securing GPU infrastructure, power systems, cooling equipment and delivery capacity. The procurement appointment could indicate that Volta is beginning to build the supplier relationships needed for the planned deployment. It does not, however, confirm the start of construction, equipment procurement, actual capital expenditure or the commissioning of capacity.

The announced project could become a significant source of demand for high-density AI infrastructure in Norway if the partnership proceeds. Its execution, including the precise role of Bitdeer and the identity of the AI-lab partner, remains undisclosed in the available material.

Почему это важно

The appointment strengthens Volta’s procurement function as it pursues a high-density AI infrastructure project. If implemented, the planned development could create material demand for GPU systems, power infrastructure, cooling and EPC or integration services; however, no construction start, equipment orders or operational capacity have been confirmed.
