  • Unilog.SC has opened The U, a 24/7/365 operational hub in Sterling, Virginia.
  • The hub supports equipment receiving, storage, configuration, staging and dispatch for data center projects and sites.
  • The U also provides a regional base for critical service spares and field-service operations in the Northern Virginia data center corridor.
  • No facility-size, CAPEX, staffing, inventory-volume or supported-capacity data have been disclosed.

Unilog.SC has opened The U in Sterling, Virginia, as a purpose-built operational hub serving the Northern Virginia data center corridor. The facility operates 24/7/365 and is positioned to support data center operators, OEMs, equipment manufacturers, integrators and technical teams.

The U is designed to receive, store, manage, configure, stage and dispatch equipment and critical inventory according to project- and site-specific requirements. It also acts as a regional base for critical service spares and field-service operations.

For data center operators, the model addresses an operational constraint that becomes more material as AI infrastructure and distributed deployments increase: the ability to place equipment, replacement parts and technical support close to active sites. The hub could help reduce the time between an identified requirement and fulfilment, although no measured delivery-time, availability or downtime outcomes have been disclosed.

More broadly, the opening reflects the development of specialized service and logistics infrastructure around dense data center clusters. As AI-related deployments scale, supply-chain competitiveness may depend not only on equipment availability but also on the proximity of spares, staging, integration and field-service capabilities to operator sites.

Unilog.SC has not disclosed the facility's floor area, inventory volumes, CAPEX, staffing level, number of supported sites or the data center capacity it can support.

Почему это важно

As AI infrastructure and distributed data center deployments expand, the availability of locally staged equipment, service spares and technical support is becoming increasingly important. A regional hub could shorten the interval between an operational requirement and fulfilment, potentially reducing deployment-delay and critical-infrastructure downtime risk.
