  • Solidigm has notified customers of an additional Taiwan ODM arrangement for data-center SSDs.
  • PTI and Pegatron are identified as ODM manufacturers for part of the product output.
  • Taiwan-made products are expected to reach customers from 24 December; the source does not specify the year.
  • TrendForce forecasts enterprise SSD bit-demand growth of more than 80% year on year in the current year.
  • No production capacity, output volume, CAPEX or confirmed order term has been disclosed.

Solidigm is expanding its data-center SSD supply chain through an additional ODM production arrangement in Taiwan, according to a customer notification cited by the source. The company is part of the SK hynix group.

The source identifies PTI and Pegatron as ODM manufacturers for a portion of Solidigm’s products. Customers are expected to begin receiving products made in Taiwan from 24 December, under terms described as comparable with existing deliveries. The year associated with that date was not specified.

The expansion comes as cloud operators increase infrastructure for inference workloads, supporting demand for enterprise SSDs used in inference, search, caching and high-capacity storage. TrendForce forecasts that enterprise SSD bit demand will rise by more than 80% year on year in the current year.

The source estimates Solidigm’s annual orders to Taiwanese manufacturers at between hundreds of billions and one trillion New Taiwan dollars. This is an estimate rather than a disclosed contract value.

For data-center operators and supply-chain participants, the arrangement could deepen the integration of enterprise SSD production with Taiwan’s AI-server manufacturing base. If demand remains at the indicated level, it could support utilization at Taiwanese contract manufacturers and help constrain storage shortages for new AI data-center deployments. However, the available information does not disclose SSD production volumes, manufacturing capacity, CAPEX, order duration, or whether the new ODM base is a distinct physical facility or an expansion of an existing contract-manufacturing network.

Почему это важно

The move could bring enterprise SSD supply closer to Taiwan’s AI-server manufacturing ecosystem as cloud operators expand inference infrastructure. Additional contract manufacturing may help ease storage availability constraints, although neither output volume nor the capacity of the new production arrangement has been disclosed.
