Sitetracker is extending its platform from repeatable telecommunications deployments into renewable-energy and data-center infrastructure. The company positions its Salesforce-based system as a tool for coordinating site selection, power tracking and asset management across the infrastructure lifecycle.
- Sitetracker is broadening its platform focus from telecom deployments to renewable energy and data-center infrastructure.
- The platform is positioned within the Salesforce ecosystem and covers site selection, power tracking and asset management.
- Sitetracker cites common coordination, scaling and data-management requirements across telecom, renewable energy and data centers.
- The company’s cited deployment across more than 100 countries was for a wireless contractor, not a data-center deployment.
Sitetracker has expanded the focus of its platform beyond telecommunications projects, including 5G and fiber deployments, to renewable energy and data-center infrastructure, according to Michael Roach, the company’s Head of Core Product.
The company links its move into these markets to similarities in customer requirements: coordinating complex work, scaling operating models and managing information from early planning through construction and into operations. Sitetracker describes its Salesforce-based platform as bringing together site selection, power tracking and asset management.
For data-center developers and operators, those functions sit across a set of closely connected processes. Site and power decisions shape project delivery, while construction assets and operational data must be managed through the facility lifecycle. A common system across these workflows could support further digitisation of infrastructure delivery and management as projects become more energy-intensive and distributed across multiple sites.
The development also suggests a broader convergence between telecom infrastructure, renewable energy and data centers in lifecycle management for physical assets. As the number of complex data-center projects grows, demand for systems connecting planning, construction, energy and operational data could expand.
Roach said he previously led Sitetracker’s largest global deployment for a large wireless contractor across more than 100 countries. That experience relates to a wireless deployment and does not establish a comparable data-center footprint.
Data-center development is increasing the need to manage interdependent site, power, construction and operational workflows. Sitetracker’s move illustrates the potential convergence of telecom, renewable-energy and data-center infrastructure around software platforms that link planning, delivery and asset data.
