- DSX Ready is NVIDIA’s newly launched infrastructure qualification program for AI factories.
- The first wave includes six suppliers across BESS and CDU categories.
- Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla are listed for BESS; LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv for CDUs.
- BESS qualification requires testing, data submission and NVIDIA review, while CDUs use a self-qualification package.
- NVIDIA plans to extend the program to further infrastructure and software categories.
NVIDIA has introduced DSX Ready, a qualification program for infrastructure products used in AI factories. The program is designed to qualify products for deployment alongside AI infrastructure, with the stated aim of reducing integration risk and accelerating deployment.
The initial DSX Ready cohort focuses on two infrastructure categories: battery energy storage systems and coolant distribution units. The six participating international suppliers comprise three BESS providers—Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla—and three CDU providers—LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv.
The qualification approach differs by product category. BESS suppliers are required to complete specified testing, submit data and undergo NVIDIA review. For CDUs, NVIDIA applies a self-qualification package against functional requirements.
For AI data-center developers and operators, the program addresses two increasingly coupled parts of facility design: power resilience and thermal management. Higher-power AI server racks raise both the importance of energy-storage integration and the need for liquid-cooling infrastructure capable of supporting the associated heat loads. A common qualification framework could make BESS and CDU selection more straightforward for AI-facility projects.
More broadly, DSX Ready could become a mechanism for building interoperable supply chains for AI data centers, in which energy storage and liquid-cooling equipment are assessed alongside compute and network infrastructure. This could increase the commercial value of demonstrated equipment compatibility for BESS, CDU, power-electronics and energy-management suppliers.
NVIDIA intends to expand DSX Ready progressively to additional infrastructure and software categories. Delta Electronics and Lite-On Technology have capabilities relevant to energy storage, power conversion, energy management and AI-server power technologies, respectively, but their participation in the first DSX Ready wave has not been announced.
As AI server rack densities increase, data-center operators face tighter requirements for resilient power infrastructure and effective heat removal. DSX Ready could simplify vendor selection for AI data-center builders and encourage closer integration of compute, energy-storage and liquid-cooling systems.
