IndexBox has published a 2026–2035 outlook for the global fibre-optic cable accessories market, projecting a 6.2% compound annual growth rate in its base case. The firm identifies data centres and cloud as the fastest-growing end market, supported by hyperscale and edge deployments, AI workloads and demand for high-density optical interconnects.

  • IndexBox projects 6.2% CAGR for the global fibre-optic cable accessories market in 2026–2035.
  • Data centres and cloud are forecast to increase their share of market demand from 27% in 2025 to more than 32% by 2035.
  • MPO/MTP connectors, high-density optical distribution frames and pre-terminated trunk cables are highlighted as relevant data-centre products.
  • Specialised-material availability, certification timelines and commodity pricing remain potential constraints for suppliers.

IndexBox forecasts that the global fibre-optic cable accessories market will expand at a 6.2% CAGR between 2026 and 2035 under its base-case scenario. On the same basis, the market index is projected to reach 182 by 2035, using 2025=100.

Data centres and cloud are identified as the market’s fastest-growing end segment. IndexBox expects the segment’s share of global demand to rise from 27% in 2025 to more than 32% by 2035. The forecast links this shift to the expansion of hyperscale and edge data centres, AI workloads, rising east-west traffic and disaggregated architectures.

For data-centre operators and infrastructure suppliers, the relevant demand is concentrated in high-density optical connectivity rather than fibre cable alone. The publication highlights MPO/MTP connectors, high-density optical distribution frames and pre-terminated trunk cables as solutions expected to be in demand for data-centre deployments.

The outlook could expand the addressable market for physical-layer component suppliers serving cloud and colocation infrastructure. At the same time, the report indicates that procurement concentration among hyperscalers may raise qualification barriers, particularly for certified high-density interconnect products.

IndexBox also identifies supply and commercial constraints. These include shortages of specialised polymers and ceramic ferrules, lengthy certification processes for carrier-grade equipment, and price pressure in commodity product segments. These factors could affect supplier lead times, qualification cycles and margins even as demand for data-centre optical infrastructure grows.

Почему это важно

Optical connectivity is becoming a more material element of data-centre infrastructure as east-west traffic, AI workloads and distributed edge deployments increase port density and fibre-management requirements. The outlook suggests that high-density, qualified optical interconnect products could outgrow conventional cable infrastructure, while supplier qualification requirements and component availability may become more consequential.
