IndexBox’s baseline scenario projects a 6.2% CAGR for the global static transfer switch (STS) market from 2026 to 2035, reaching a market index of 182 by 2035 on a 2025=100 basis. The report identifies data-center expansion—across hyperscale, colocation and edge deployments—as the principal demand driver.

  • IndexBox projects a 6.2% CAGR for the global STS market over 2026–2035.
  • The baseline scenario puts the 2035 market index at 182, using 2025=100.
  • Hyperscale, colocation and edge data centers are identified as the principal demand drivers.
  • Asia-Pacific is expected to lead STS production and consumption; North America and Europe remain significant replacement and upgrade markets.
  • The forecast covers the overall STS market, not data centers alone.

IndexBox forecasts sustained expansion in the global static transfer switch market over 2026–2035, with a 6.2% compound annual growth rate in its baseline scenario. On the report’s index basis, with 2025 set at 100, the market would reach 182 by 2035.

The report identifies the data-center sector as the main source of demand, citing hyperscale facilities, colocation sites and edge deployments. Static transfer switches support high-availability power design by transferring load between independent AC power sources with near-instantaneous switching, making them relevant to facilities prioritising continuity of supply and redundant electrical architectures.

Asia-Pacific is expected to lead both STS production and consumption, according to IndexBox, supported by infrastructure investment in China, India and Southeast Asia. North America and Europe are expected to remain important markets, with demand linked to replacement of ageing infrastructure and adoption of more intelligent and efficient STS equipment.

For suppliers, the outlook could point to opportunities in new hyperscale, colocation and edge construction, as well as in upgrades to installed power infrastructure in North America and Europe. However, the forecast is a market outlook rather than evidence of actual equipment shipments, data-center capacity additions or contracted projects. IndexBox also notes that the growth trajectory will depend on macroeconomic cycles and supply-chain conditions for critical semiconductors.

Почему это важно

STS equipment is a core component of resilient power architectures, enabling near-instantaneous transfer of loads between independent AC sources. The forecast suggests continued demand for power redundancy and continuity equipment as data-center infrastructure is built out and modernised, although it covers the overall STS market rather than the data-center segment alone.
