AI Data-Center Power Demand Supports Lite-On and AcBel Third-Quarter Revenue; Lite-On Raises CAPEX Plan

Редакция ЦОД:Главное

Demand for power equipment serving AI data centers supported third-quarter revenue at Taiwan’s Lite-On Technology and AcBel. Lite-On has also announced an expansion of its Kaohsiung production base and raised its annual CAPEX plan for high-power power products, R&D and test equipment.

Главное
  • Lite-On reported approximately NT$57.4 billion in third-quarter consolidated revenue, with high-power server power supplies and BBUs cited as growth drivers.
  • AcBel’s third-quarter consolidated revenue reached NT$10.805 billion, its first quarter above NT$10 billion.
  • Lite-On announced approximately NT$8.85 billion for expansion of its Kaohsiung production base.
  • Lite-On increased its annual CAPEX plan from NT$13 billion to NT$18 billion for new lines, R&D and test equipment for high-power AI data-center power products.
  • The disclosures suggest AI infrastructure demand is extending into power-system supply chains, though manufacturing output and expansion timing remain undisclosed.

Lite-On Technology reported consolidated third-quarter revenue of approximately NT$57.4 billion, up about 9% quarter on quarter and about 28% year on year. Its cloud and IoT business accounted for 59% of September revenue, with high-power server power supplies and BBUs identified as growth drivers.

AcBel reported consolidated third-quarter revenue of NT$10.805 billion, up 13.56% quarter on quarter and about 33.88% year on year. It was the company’s first quarter with revenue above NT$10 billion. AcBel said demand for its enterprise power products was supported by fuel cells, U.S. data centers and smart-grid applications; the enterprise power segment represented 63% of its September revenue.

In response to demand for high-power AI data-center power products, Lite-On has announced investment of approximately NT$8.85 billion to expand its production base in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Separately, it raised its annual CAPEX plan from NT$13 billion to NT$18 billion for new production lines, R&D and testing equipment. The higher CAPEX plan is described as an annual plan and should not be treated as confirmed spending or as investment solely tied to the Kaohsiung site.

For data-center operators and infrastructure investors, the disclosures provide an indication that AI deployment is increasing demand across the power subsystem supply chain, not only for compute hardware. The planned investment in production lines and test infrastructure could improve availability of high-power server power supplies and BBUs, but the source does not disclose production volumes, commissioning dates or the implementation schedule for the Kaohsiung expansion.

For the first nine months of the year, Lite-On reported consolidated revenue of NT$153.6 billion, while AcBel reported NT$28.901 billion. The reporting year for the third-quarter, September and nine-month figures was not explicitly specified in the source material.

The results point to AI-compute demand extending beyond servers into critical power infrastructure, including high-power server power supplies, power-management systems and battery backup units (BBUs). Lite-On’s planned manufacturing and test investment could support greater supply-chain capacity for this equipment, although output volumes and the expansion timeline have not been disclosed.
